Montessori Floor Bed with LED Lights – Twin Size Grey House Bed

Most floor beds are a mattress in a frame. This one is a room inside a room — a house-shaped twin bed with a pitched roof, tall picket rails on every side, and a warm light strip running along the ridge. Children stop resisting bedtime because bedtime stops feeling like the end of the day.

Is it safe for a toddler?

The bed sits on the floor, so there is no height to fall from. Around it, full-perimeter picket rails stand 19.4" high — tall enough to keep a moving sleeper in place through the night, low enough that your child can step out on their own in the morning.

The frame is pine with MDF and plywood, carries 250 lbs, and weighs 55 lbs assembled — heavy enough that it doesn't shift when climbed on. Assemble fully before use, follow the included instructions, and supervise as with any children's furniture.

Check the height before you buy

This is the one thing we'd rather you know now than discover on delivery day. The roof peak reaches 63" — that's 5'3", roughly chest height on an adult. It is a house, not a low platform.

In a room with standard ceilings it looks striking. Under a sloped attic ceiling or a low basement beam, measure first. Footprint is 79.4" long x 40.9" wide, about 6'7" x 3'5".

About the lighting

A single warm white LED strip runs the length of the roof. It is a soft, steady glow meant to replace a separate night light — not colour-changing, and not bright enough to read by. We'd rather set that expectation here than have it arrive as a surprise.

Why we built this store

We started Montesstorytime because we couldn't find it ourselves. When our first child arrived we bought what everyone buys, and most of it held their attention for about a week. We wanted a shop run by parents who had already done the sorting.

We're a new business and we'd rather say so than pretend. What we can promise is on this page: real measurements, including the ones that might put you off, and a straight answer if you email us.

If it isn't right

You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. If it arrives damaged, incomplete or incorrect, we cover return shipping and make it right — send a photo and we'll sort it. US orders ship duties paid, so there is nothing to pay on arrival.
